Clubs that play in the National Youth Football League (www.nfyl.co.uk) have a proven track record of producing professional soccer players. See Callum Walmsley's story with Barnsley Football Club.
As a student athlete you will play a full European length season plus a several knockout cup competitions as well as the opportunity to be selected to participate in exhibition games and a national all-star trip to Europe.
Due to several soccer clubs having varying levels of soccer, this program is not just available to the 'elite' players. It's an opportunity for athletes that might not have an opportunity in their respective countries but want to continue playing at a competitive/social level while pursuing their education.
All soccer clubs that play in the NFYL have partnered with universities where the student athletes will gain the University experience by living and studying on the campus while obtaining their undergraduate or graduate degrees.
